Dyckia sp Northeastern Santa Catarina

This is another nameless new species from Northeastern Santa Catarina.
This species has a curiosity, it grows on the termite nests and all the individual plant was
growing on termites nests.
Flowers are deep orange.
An extremely rare plant.

  1. I wonder if the seed gives off a chemical or smell that attracts termites, getting them to carry it to the nest, or seedlings that land anywhere else simply do not grow well. Maybe too much undergrowth in the area or floods that rot them? Are they large seeds that can germinate through the nest? Or very small ones that the wind blows?
