Dyckia nigripinis (black spined Dyckia)
True species. Comes from Rio Grande do Sul and it is big!
May turn into a deep red when under stress.
Avery fiercely armed plant. It is used in its native land as living fence for pigs.
The animals are restrained by the plants so well armed they are.

  2. Sure it would work perfectly no doubt about that. The only worry would be the cold. Dyckias stand coldness and freeezing cold temps but just for a very few hours, few hours....
