Here in Joinville, this plant is extremely susceptible to fungi attacks.
It is a nonsense to be constantly preventing and treating.
The plant is not self fertile.
This plant here is hardly seen. what we use to see are hybrids involving Different Dyckiamarnier-lapostollei varieties The plant has a very wide range in Central Brazil and every region holds a difference. This one here is in my opinion one of the most beautiful Dyckias.
We could breed to select more and more of the tiny spines to form a near solid edge. Such a edge would not harm, so many more people would want to grow these plants. Also closer teeth would force more a more symetric plant, adding to its beauty.
