This Platyphylla is not a platyphyla . It is a fallen star!
A dream Dyckia dreamed in São Paulo.
Now imagine lots of this one here amid lots of true brevifolias
covering an irregular rocky area...
This would be gardening with Dyckias and mouths would open widely.
That is what Dyckias are for... open all mouths!
These plants in these two pictures are brothers.
They come from the very same seeds from a single fruit.
They were man made in São Paulo.
The upper plant is very, very similar to the mother plant Dyckia platyphylla and
the plant below seems the very same plant after dropped into melted silver bucket.
Do not expect for an army of very same individuals when Hybridizing Dyckias.
Also, you may never reach the same result again even using the very same parents in spite of being pure, pure collected strain Dyckia parents.
Halfway to heaven!
ReplyDeleteI do agree with you Gary. I do think Dyckias are not for a solitary small black plastic pot. This is the same as to keep a peacock within those restrit jailis for the egg layer hens in the old fationed poultries. Dyckias are for gardening. They are fit for the stone xeric garden. They triple their beauty when nort restricted.
