The mirror effect on a blue Dyckia hebdingii

The mirror effect is quite common in Dyckias specially amid those that are not prune to set stolons or basal new sprouts and rely only on seeds to reproduce.

In nature we see large colonies of duplication of a single plant. The mirror effect begins with a crown splitting. As time passes by the split heads are getting apart and they are also being divided by their own turn. In time a colony is formed. All twin plants each a perfect duplication of a pioneer seedling plant.
