Dyckia hebdingii

Dyckia hebdingii

It can get even more blue/silvered.
It is always a small plant.
Needs the maximum sun exposing otherwise it gets green and looses its form.
In less than exceptional location ( sunny to the extreme and a bit windy) the leaves get longer,
thinner, greener and turns to be a pale drab image of what it should be.
This one here is an exceptional individual, one in many thousands.
Deserves to be looked longer.
Drool, baby!

In one and in all big populations there seems to exist some different individuals scattered among its population. One that is taller or fatter, more resistant to something as heat, cold, viruses, whatever is always present. It acts as a kind of secret last chance. It may not happen all of a sudden but some thousands of years is considered to be too soon.
This individuals are the key to the future of the species. We live in a constant changing environment and when nature changes its mind the species has something to come along or an answer to the inconstant nature.
Nobody and nothing is perfect and perfectly adapted to any environment. This would be fatal.
As the environment is always and continually changing this perfect creature or is condemned the the extinction.
Nature can not cope with perfection!
Perfection can not endure can not go any further.
Perfection is fatal.
Our future and the future of any creature as a species depends totally on the different individuals the odd and the weird.
Salvation seems not to lay on an army of equals but exactly on the very few differents. A better climbing ability, a faster flight, a more rugged skin or paler or darker one, a more acute vision or hearing...bigger ears, longer arms, smaller leaves, stronger nails, lighter bones...
This plant here is one of this individuals, in this case the difference lies on the number of silver scales. This silver scales gives this spectacular appearance and may save the species if the sun gets a bit more intense in future.

We should be wiser. Man is a creature capable of transforming the environment in a speed our kind can not cope with the results or...side effects. We are bond to extinction because our different can´t deal with such amount of changing in our House.
We reproduce to much, waste too much, spread leftovers literally everywhere.
We are breathing, living and breeding amid trash.
We have to extinguish misery, stop reproducing madly, provide knowledge to everybody. Light! Light is what we need. ( ..as this Dyckia does but we need Light!)
We are too many and too much stupid and bold.

We should enjoy Light as Dyckias relishes the Sunlight.
Easter Time is a time for Hope!
Think of this and enjoy this time of plenty, it won´t last too much longer.
