Dyckia delicata

Dyckia delicata silver form
This is a true species!!!

This breath taking beautiful South Brazil native plant is a queen of all queens.
This silver form is particularly astonishing. Dyckia delicata may be red, silver, yellowish/olive.
This is me preferred one.
Look its seedlings, how plenty.
The flower spike is strong but produces small yellow flowers and the seeds are very small.
In cultivation Dyckia delicata produces flower but their seeds are usually useless.
Dyckia delicatas needs two Delicatas of different parents to produce viable seeds.
I hope something even prettier coming out from this plastic box.

  1. Do you mean that this species will not cross with other species? Or do you mean the wider leaf of most others seems to wash out the thin leaves in most hybrids? If the second is true the next generation could bring the thin leaf genes back together, but still have other beauty left from the outcross species. Is this clear?
