Dyckia encholirioides spinosissima

science up to now recognizes just one variety of Dyckia encholirioides.
It is one the thrives close to the sea in Santa Catarina South litoranean area, named Dyckia encholirioides var, rubra referring to its reddish flowers or somehow re tinted petals.
North from Florianópolis up to São Paulo there is the Dyckia encholirioides type form.
This species is not big but huge and beautiful!
This plant here thrives amid the normal Dyckia brevifolia close to the shore of Erwino Beach
in São Francisco do Sul Northeastern Santa Catarina and some 60 km from my garden.
It is a smaller plant when compared to Dyckia encholirioides, much more compact and bears
more than double the number of spines. Flowers stalks are shorter and the flowers are yellow and bigger than the type form
All suggests this to be a Dyckia encholirioides variety.
I propose for name : Dyckia encholirioides mutispina or
Dyckia encholirioides spinosissima.
What a nice scientific work this would be.
Caution is needed here. Taxonomy is not a chariot to win a speed race concourse.
It is not a matter of who arrives first..but do it right!
We should stop our coming backs and idea changings.
