I went this Sunday with friends to a visit to our rocky Dyckia fields uphills...and look to what I found.This was pictured four hours ago. Dyckia and absolutely brand new to me.
No spines at all. The place already got some frosts and now we can see the dried dead grasses that protected the plant from the strong sunshine of the summer. these grasses dry out and die and during the smaller days of winter the plant gets all the sun it needs.
Also notice the plant is growing within a termite nest.
The leaves are just like ribbons.
