Dyckia delicata rubra form, nature collected plant

The oposing dishes make a magnificent view.
This position is naturally taken by the mature plants as this is crucial for
the plant survival. The water does not get trapped in the middle of the crown.
This certainly would mean death to the plant...and as a Dyckia it is meant to live almost forever or
long enough for us to say so. Dyckias do not die  from blooming and forest fires hardly  kills them.
Dyckias die from excessive humidity and from shadow or lack of light. This two factors combined
are their hell.

This is not just one of the most beautiful dyckias but certainly one of the prettiest xeric on Earth.

We never heard of this rubra version until we ourselves went to the local the live in
nature right in the center of the southernmost Brazilian State: Rio Grande do Sul.

Below we see a younger and smaller rubra plant.

As the plant matures the leaves get narrower.
