Dyckia encholirioides, a huge dazzling beast.

Dyckia encholirioides
Huge!
Native to Brazilian Southern seashores it lives watching the come and going of the Southern Atlantic tides. Grows in pure sand and also on rocks.
It is a ferocious beast that catches you, ripens  your skin...and you fall in love...
A master piece in any garden..it looks like green fire .
Imagine a plant just like this on a huge rock of an ample garden.
Endures frosts. Of course not those  in Finland or Moscow.
We do have light frosts here in South and the temperature can drop to some few degrees below zero Centigrades.

Look! Green flames of a magic campfire.
The pot is a resin made shallow wide mouthed basin.
Not fit to a windowsill or any Botanic Garden bed.
This is a plant for those who dare. In nature it lives in a mild climate.
The plant does not tolerates continuous heat or endless hot climates.
It gets distorted in such areas and dwarfs and dies slowly.
A fantastic plant to Southern California, Arizona, New Mexico, Italy, Spain, Turkey, Greece,
Mexico, South Africa .............
Stands sea salt!!!!
Flowers in abundance in a festival of yellow flowers.

This is my well know left hand...
Some times one of my feet also appears here and there...
Look at those trunks!
A dream plant. a sole green plant and even so a nature wonder.

...have you ever dreamt of a so fantastic plant....
You may not hold a forest to impress and make the jaws drop to ground...
...a rocky field, a plant just like this one here, some patches of a low green succulent and you have something impossible to be matched.
Green in every sense...low water consume...saving Colorado River waters.
The plant would do great  even in a Las Vegas luxury garden.
We hardly see  this plant in spite of being one of the first  Dyckias to be  described simply
cause this real royal beauty is not for the common mortal....
