Dyckia goehringii under the morning dew

Observe the flower stalk.
Highly scaled plants rely on dew and air humidity for drinking so
they need less rain water and are capable of living in places no other plant could do.
This always means a place without shadow as nothing exists there to make any shadow.
So the very same  device that takes water from the air enables the plant to cope with the scorching Sun.
