The Dyckia mirroring effect or he reflecting beauties

Mirroring in Dyckias is quite a common behavior. It is a head division that can appear in double , triple or even more divisions.
In my  suspicious opinion this only adds to their beauty but nature doesn´t waste energy and nothing is just for fun in it. Nature always has a purpose...

It is clear this is a way the plant found to produce even more flowers. Seeds are the goal in nature.
All a Dyckia does is for obtaining energy  in order to produce seeds and the more the better.
More heads means more flowers stalks more flowers more seeds.

Also this is a clear way the plant found to cope with the water that may get trapped in the middle of the crown. Crowns that  recieved more water divided more profusely and promptely. Laid aside or by its side  a Dyckia crown won´t hold any water and this is vital for a Dyckia as traped water may bring fungi to the more delicate area of a Dyckia, the growing one.

Reflected Dyckias are always a beautiful sight.

Dyckia species hebdingii affinis
One of my collection pride and also one of the most beautiful Dyckias of all.
This mirrored plant is a sight to remember...
