Dyckia marnier-lapostollei from Goiás

It seems to exist a tendency to take as a Dyckia marnier-lapostollei variety estevessi ever we see a  marnier plant with big teeth. This is not so simple as there are several other Dyckia marnier-lapostollei varieties also bearing curled leaves and big teeth. I do think just the one who collected the plant  and know the origin of the plant described as variety estevessi may state this is so and so but when you put the plant among some others the guy will certainly fail to recognise the estevesii one even when at bloom.

When we deal with Dyckia marnier-lapostollei it is safter and wise to say just this unless  you yourself collect the plant in the very same spot the type plant was collected even so and as we say in Portuguese: I wouldn´t put my hant on fire on this...(Eu não poria minha mão no fogo por isto...)

There are many marnier-lapostollei varieties as its territory is huge and well spread on Center Brazil.
The fact Science described ony one variety does not mean there are not others. Most in Dyckias is already to be made and we have only just begun...
