What a time!
Steven was William Baker close friend.
Steven was the one who spoke at the funeral of his friend Bill Baker.
It was an honor and deep emotion to show Bill´s dear friend this rarity in its habitat.
This is also a curious area. The margins of the canyon belong to the Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul
and the gorge of the canyon belongs to Santa Catarina where I live.
So we can state Santa Catarina is also home of the Dyckia retzii rubra.
It was a deep cold day but the area gets even colder.
Notice the damage past frosts caused to some the rubra ones.
Look these rubras were deep inside the canyon gorge.
So these plants are in Santa Catarina and the photographer is in Rio Grande do Sul.
