Dyckia delicata seed pods look like those
Russian Orthodox church tops.
The flowers are well densed. The windows or fenestrations you see are made by the native bees in search of the nectar, a sweet goo found within the flowers. You can see one in the low left corner of this picture.
Observation is the soul of Science.

Dyckia magnifica flowers hang down to avoid water to collect within them.
The female part is visibly out of the protection of the flower petals as the mountain climate is deep humid. The insect is a native bee. The barbed rear legs will hold the nectar. This is a newcomer to the feast. Dyckia delicata cyanophylla flowers are less dense than in the type form
Below Dyckia magnifica flower stems do look like small conifers trees.
The branches will get even much longer as the flowers turn into tiny seed pods.
In wilderness its flowers are pollinated by the wind.
