Dyckia beateae and some oddities

Dyckia beateae

Some Dyckias are old and since long ago known all over the globe.
We call them Classic Dyckias.
These classics are :
Dyckia brevifolia, Dyckia marnier-lapostollei, Dyckia fosteriana, Dyckia leptostachia,
and some not many others.
Since late eighties we have specific laws inorder to protect our native endemic plants.
Normally it takes some years, even decades for a new discovery to be seen outside
Brazil as it is expressly forbidden to take this or any other Dyckia out the country.
All Dyckia species are considered in some degree endangered, threatened or under the risk of extinction.
Meanwhile some Dyckias fast and oddly enough was found in every Continent almost immediately after its discovering.
Dyckia beateae is one of these Olympic swimmers that right way learned how to cross
the seven seas. Its fins are only surpassed by its wings and as a flier Beatea is unbeatable.
