Dyckia marnier-lapostollei a many faced one

The lizard here is a fake one

This is a gorgeous one marnier. People say is such and such variety and so on ...
They are afraid to contest. This is a separated species!
One thing is sure. This is a explendour of the Dyckia sea.

Here you see the beginning of the flower stalk There is almost no bracts.

This wild specimen is about blooming. Look at the flower stalk bracts, they are huge.

Dyckia marnier-lapostollei has a wide wild range.
Recently it was found close to our capital Brasília.
It was reported in Bahia, Minas Gerais, Goiás.
A plant with such a wide range may present some variation, they say regional variation.
But some insists they are the same, others they say they are marnier affinis.
Some say they do not know, some others affirm they are all different and separated species.
... one thing is for sure: They are beautiful!
