Dyckia unguiformis from Bahia Brazil

Dyckia unguiformis (like a pawn) was recently found in Bahia by my friend Karl Heinz.
The plant is under observation for further description.
This is an odd looking beauty. Her the plant is under collect stress and getting used to  cultivation.

Look the normally under leaf surface is deeply coated an the plant uses this to protect its growing and more delicate vital area from too much sum exposition and possible damage.

This besides being odd looking it is  very nicely arranged.

What a creature!
