The mother plant is a Dyckia reitzii, the father is a conjecture but the elegance and beauty are notorious.

It looks like a lead fountain.

Dyckia pampeana is native Brazil pampa region

This is an extensive  grass covered plain area that goes also to Uruguay and Argentina.

Sheep raising farms almost exterminated this plant. It grows amid the grass and looks look one. It reproduces avidly by stolons and is able o cover the terrain.

A few years ago some rare ones were found whee the sheep tongues could not reach.

Some chemicals is said to trigger this and has being used with many different ornamental plants
in Southeast Asia. The truth is the more seeds one sows the bigger are the chances for him to get a different looking plant. 

Some variegated plants transfer that characteristic to its seedling but the majority of the variegated ones tries to ban that and turn to normal looking. The plant see this as an anomaly that mus be eliminated
