All the joy and fun of making our own hybrids....
Hybrid making can be pleasurable and as joyful as finding a new species in wilderness.
Most of the times even more enjoyable for not always a new species is as beautiful as a new hybrid and vice-versa. I love the beautiful no matter hybrid or species.
Species are preserved in nature and never in our gardens no matter as much love and care we have and take on them. This is a Botanic Garden (not all) role and not ours.

Hybrid Dyckia seedlings
I am fond of the beautiful and I love species specially when they are beautiful too.
Preserving?
Fantastic! Specially when the habitat is preserved.
Preserving on pots is not up to me, it is a Botanic Garden job and duty.
Here I search for the fantastic beautiful,
no matter species or hybrid it must be dazzling beautiful.
Que sera, sera...whatever will be will be
but the future is really ours to see.
What will be
will be.

Dyckia fosteriana-fosteriana X Dyckia Brittle Star
A pretty seedling that gets better every day but it was a drab looking green one not too long ago.
..and it has a lot to show ahead.

Dyckia Brittle Star, the real one...you can have it!
Brittle Star
(Bill Baker most sought after hybrid)
A dream plant.
It produces no sprout!
We must rely on head divisions to multiply it.

We must rely on head divisions to multiply it.
Its seeds germinate fantastically beautiful hybrids.
This plant already bloomed, see the flower stalk leftovers here above.
