Variegated Dyckia ebdingii rubra

 

This plant is very young and was found in nature when it was even smaller and of course younger.
Variegated plants tend to grow very slowly.
Some variegation are result or reaction to a fungus attack
This might be a reaction to a fungus attack. Fungi may  get DNA alterations in their hosts..
Sprouts an d head divisions will allow duplications but this will take ages...
This is a singular oddity a unique beauty.
As we get more Dyckia enthusiasts more of these will appear.
Another wonderful variegated Dyckia was found a few years ago also in Rio Grande do Sul.
It was Dyckia alba.
