Dyckia estevesii....wondering about...

Dyckia estevessi produces extra long snaky like trunks and many, many, many branches...these are not the common Dyckia sprouts for these are so firmly attached to the trunks one needs more than hands to detach it from the mother plant trunk. Imagine meters long trunks and the many branches also emitting their own trunks.
In time the extra long trunks would  rot or simply dry out into dust and the living parts would go free and doing the very same as before done by the mother plant.
Imagine this for uncountable years. One passing by would conclude all plants are seedlings and just found out a new species...Even tough there had been no round one at sight...a good and long observation and careful cultivation would lead to the conclusion....the species is round and not distichous!!! All and every seed produces round plants....
Note: I saw some of these plants with more than 4 meters long trunks and to separate some branches we used a saw!
