What a stunning beautiful surprise! the German magazine Die Bromelie...and my name.........

This is the last issue of this most wonderful Magazine on Bromeliads: DIE BROMELIE.
I worked the day long preparing the world largest Dyckia show and when I got home, my wife Raquel
said: There is a gift you will love on your desk.
It was the last issue of Die Bromelie  magazine and  the second cover is Dyckia delicatas in habitat. The central page brings  my German friend Holger Sachs` report on Dyckia delicata. In fact the first international report on Dyckia delicata ... all about the travel we made together to the delicatas home...
I am happy...I danced, laughed and cried.
Imagine..now i can read English and German and find my name there..I am part of the story..
Thank you Holger
God Bless you, may we make many more traveling to our fantastic wilderness...
Muito Obrigado!
Brazilian hugs!!!

  1. Congratulations Constantino! That is indeed a very nice honor, especially initiated by your friend Holger. I believe this is just the start of many as you are such a wealth of information and empirical research in this still under researched field.

  2. Max, thanks and yes, we all know too little about Dyckias. I do believe we´ve just opened the curtain. Also most of what we have as known is terrible set and described. Latin is a horror as noone alive use it as a day by day language and also Latin lacks the words we all use now. Latin is so dull we hardly can describe the obvious now witout being rudiculous. Scientifica Latin descriptions are a nightmare to anyone alive!!!!! We are solost in botanics we do not dare to make a beautiful description in the language we better master and in English. If I was to describe I should do it in Portuguese and in English and do not loose my time with something no one use for centuries.
