Dyckia Icicle
This is a fantastic silver Plant sent to my doorstep
by One of the most Devoted Dyckia lover my cajum friend David Boudreaux
from Louisiania.
Lousiania belonged to France and its settlers came from France and it is a peculiar land with
fantastic songs, banjo palyers, delicious food, bogs, gigantic bald cypress, huge biting turtles, tap dancing and the cajum, people who descend from those first French settlers.
Thank you: Mr. Boudreaux

JAMBALAYA
This is a highlight on The American Songs and this is the name of a dish of the Creole
cousine. A toast to all cajum people!
"Goodbye, Joe, me gotta go, me oh my oh.
Me gotta go, pole the pirogue down the bayou.
My Yvonne, sweetest one, me oh my oh.
Son of a gun, gonna have big fun on the bayou.
Jambalaya and a crawfish pie and fillet gumbo
'Cause tonight I'm gonna see my ma cher amio.
Pick guitar, fill fruit jar and be gayo,
Son of a gun, gonna have big fun on the bayou.
Thibodeaux, Fontaineaux, (and Boudreaux) the place is buzzin',
Kinfolk come to see Yvonne by the dozen.
Dress in style, go hog wild, and be gayo.
Son of a gun, gonna have big fun on the bayou."

I live in New Orleans, Louisiana, and I bought some Dyckia plants a few years ago from a guy at the City Park Botanical Garden Plant show. I think it was this Boudreaux fellow.
ReplyDeleteHave you a way I can contact him?
